'X Factor's Gamu fights to stay in the UK

Hundreds of fans gathered outside the home of X Factor singer Gamu in Tillicoultry, Scotland on Wednesday in a show of solidarity for the Zimbabwean, as she prepares to fight to stay in the UK.

The 18-year-old faces deportation following revelations that her mother's student visa has expired

Gamu will be seeking a judicial review to appeal the Home Office's decision. Her solicitor said: "We wish to stress that while this is pending no steps can be taken to remove our client or her family from the UK."

The talented singer has received support from politicians, human rights campaigners and Simon Cowell.

Meanwhile, in an X Factor twist, a 'wild card' is being added to the show meaning one of the rejected contestants will be given the opportunity to re-enter the competition.

Producers have confirmed that Gamu would not be eligible for this, however.
