'X Factor' Mary Byrne secures Sony record deal

Eliminated X Factor contestant Mary Byrne has signed a record deal with Sony records, according to her mentor Louis Walsh.

Assuring her that she could count on his support, Louis said: "I’ll help her with picking the songs and producers. She won’t be going back to Tesco.”

Commentators are suggesting the former supermarket worker could experience Susan Boyle-style success.

Susan shot to worldwife fame after becoming a runner up on Britain's Got Talent.

Meanwhile, with the X Factor final this weekends, the pressure is on with.

Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle are the two favourites for the title - judging by reviews from fans on the iTunes site.
