'Sex and the City's Kristin Davis adopts a baby girl

In Sex and the City, one of her character's big storylines revolved around her adopting a baby girl.

Now Kristin Davis, aka Charlotte, has become a mum for real after welcoming a daughter with the help of a US adoption agency.

The 46-year-old actress took baby Gemma Rose home a few months ago, she has revealed.

"This is something I have wanted for a very long time,' the actress told US publication People.

"Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed."

Kristin – who is currently single – looks every inch the doting mother cradling her new arrival in a picture she has released.
