It's emerged that the newly released Michael Jackson song, This is it was written by the king of pop and singer/songwriter Paul Anka over 20 years ago.
The tune, originally called I Never Heard, was penned by the pair with the intention of including it on Paul's 1983 album of duets Walk a Fine Line.
When the song was released this week online and to radio stations, Michael was listed as the only writer. Music fans soon realised that it was indistinguishable from the piece the men wrote together 26 years ago though.
The estate of Michael Jackson has promised to give Paul Anka 50% of the songwriting royalties.
The track will be the only 'new' song featured on a double CD of the same name, due for release on October 26, the same day as the film hits cinemas.
The date will also mark the start of an official exhibition of Michael Jackson memorabilia at the O2 bubble in London.
Among the hundreds of pieces will be a number of never-worn jackets, originally intended for Michael's This is it tour. Never-before-seen items created by New York-based designer Zaldy Goco will be on display, as well as other iconic pieces like Michael's crystal glove and a recreation of his famous red and black Thriller jacket.
A source said: "He was delighted with them. It's so sad they never saw the light of day."
