Elizabeth denies she's being treated for grief over Michael

It's been a tough few weeks for Dame Elizabeth Taylor after the death of her close friend Michael Jackson.

And now the screen legend has been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital "to complete a test".

Although reports suggest the 77-year-old's hospital visit is due to the strain of coping with the king of pop's death, Elizabeth's publicist has denied this is the case.

Elizabeth - who is wheelchair-bound because of severe back problems, gave fans several days notice of her scheduled medical visit on her Twitter page.

"I wanted you my friends to know that I'm going into the hospital to complete a test I was in the middle of," she posted.

"Although my grief over Michael could not be any deeper, I am not on suicide watch as some of the cheaper 'rags' would have you believe."
