Vuvuzela noise too much for good-natured William

Vuvuzela noise too much for good-natured William

As the most controversial aspect of the World Cup to date, vuvuzela horns have had many football fans covering their ears to drown out the 140-decibel sound.

And as Prince William demonstrated this week, the royal family are just as susceptible to their drone.

During a visit to Maun in Botswana, the 27-year-old royal quickly discovered that, whilst blowing the vuvuzela might be fun, being on its receiving end is a different matter.

After having a go himself, good natured William had to block his ears when a young boy started blasting his vuvuzela during the prince's visit to an innovative conservation project that marries football with wildlife protection.

Luckily the vuvuzela didn’t affect William's goal-keeping abilities, and the royal later proved himself to be a dab hand on the football field as he blocked shots from some of the local athletes.

Also visiting the project, which aims to teach children self respect and environmental awareness was Joe Jonas, who is in Botswana on a charity trip.
