Taylor Swift has revealed her next album will be about the "absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak" she went through after having romance troubles.
The country singer - whose ex-boyfriends include Joe Jonas and Jake Gyllenhaal - didn't name the former lover, but said her fourth record will focus on the heartache she went through.
Taylor, 22, said: "There's just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak, and that will turn out to be what the next album is about."
The Love Story singer's comments have sparked speculation she is referring to her short-lived romance with Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal, who she dated for a few months in late 2010.
Taylor, who is currently single, said writing about her break-ups helps her to recover.
"The only way that I can feel better about myself, pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone - is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity," she said.
