Daniel Craig has cut his teeth as legendary MI6 agent James Bond in numerous films.
But there was one person who initially had doubts about his potential to fill the role – director Sam Mendes.
The British filmmaker is in the boss' chair for Skyfall, the latest instalment of the franchise, and he wasn't convinced by his leading man in the past.
"I was one of the people who said I didn't think he was the right casting." he said during a press conference for the movie.
"At the time, I was asked in an interview and I said, 'I'm not sure, I would advise him not to do it'."
But Sam admitted he had since changed tact, adding: "I watched him go through that intense pressure and come through that with flying colours.
"I bumped into him after Casino Royale and I was so excited to see him as Bond. It was great to watch him come through that and prove the doubters wrong."
