Princess Mette-Marit of Norway sent out an important message to attendees at this year's International AIDS Conference in Vienna.
The royal activist has been a forerunner in her attempts to educate young people about the disease.
Flashing a t-shirt with the campaign’s slogan “Youth we can!” the princess told the audience: “We are here because we need young people’s frankness, openness, courage, energy and expertise.
"The AIDS response needs a new generation of leadership.”
The royal, herself a mother of three young children, was appointed a UNAIDS Special Representative in April 2006.
