Thailand's 81-year-old monarch, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, has been admitted to hospital suffering from a fever.
Doctors said the sovereign, who is the world's longest-serving monarch and is widely respected among the Thai people, had shown signs of fatigue and was being treated with antibiotics.
Although the king's health is a source of public anxiety, the country's prime minister told reporters there was "nothing to be concerned about".
