Airports around Scotland have been thrown into turmoil due to drifting ash from an Icelandic volcanic eruption.
Thousands of passengers risk having their flights cancelled and 400 people were forced to spend Monday night at Edinburgh airport.
According to the Met Office, the ash will spread over much of the UK by the end of the day.
This could potentially cause cancellations throughout England, Ireland and Wales.
However, transport Secretary Philip Hammond told the BBC that the widespread disruption is unlikely to last long.
Last year a similar Icelandic volcanic eruption (pictured) caused flight cancellations across Europe.
