Jahmene Douglas has defied the X Factor odds and landed himself a record deal.
The X Factor runner-up- who lost out to James Arthur on the show last year- has signed with Sony Music's RCA Records imprint, according to publication Music Week.
The Swindon-born singer said: "I'm so excited about signing to RCA. They have such a rich heritage of amazing artists."
The 21-year-old singer said he can't wait to start recording his album, which is due to be released in May.
"Let the journey begin," he added.
Jahmene isn't the first of last year's crop to land a record deal - as well as winner James, who has signed with Simon Cowell's label Syco, 16-year-old Ella Henderson also has a contract. She signed with Sony Music in December.
