Sir Paul McCartney is due to receive a prestigious award at the US president's residence.
The former Beatle is being awarded the Gershwin Prize for popular song from the Library of Congress.
Stevie Wonder, Jack White and the Jonas Brothers will pay tribute to the singer at the White House next month, in a concert presided over by Barack Obama and his family.
The award, which was first given to Paul Simon in 2007, is said to be the highest honour in pop music.
