Bono's injury causes U2 to cancel Glastonbury and US tour

U2 has cancelled its headline gig at this summer's Glastonbury festival following emergency back surgery undergone by frontman Bono.

The 50-year-old has been advised to spend the next two months recuperating after suffering from temporary partial paralysis.

"I'm heartbroken," says Bono. "We really wanted to be there to do something really special."

The injury also means the band will postpone its 16-day US tour, originally scheduled for June and July.
