Elton John 'not expecting' invite to royal wedding

Sir Elton John has revealed that he is not expecting an invitation to the upcoming royal wedding.

"I think because of my relationship with Princess Diana, people automatically think I'm going to be invited," he told Reuters.

"I'm not invited to the wedding, I would not expect to be invited to the wedding," he added.

"I just wish them the happiest of lives together," said Elton of the couple. "They seem very happy. He's a really terrific man, William, and he's going to be a great king."

The singer's comments appear to put paid to rumours that he would perform at the ceremony.
