Veronica Lario, estranged wife of Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, is asking for a £39 million a year divorce settlement, according to a newspaper report.
Veronica filed for divorce in May following reports of her multimillionaire husband’s involvement with a young actress.
Silvio has already rejected the claim, which works out at over £3 million a month, says Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper.
It’s thought the 73-year-old politician and businessman, who has a fortune of £5 billion, has offered a settlement of between £180,000 and £270,000 a month instead.
Veronica’s lawyer has yet to comment on the reports.
The couple married in 1990 and have three children together.
