Dame Elizabeth 'tweets' thanks to fans for get well messages

Elizabeth Taylor has become the latest celebrity to join the Twitter craze. She used the service this week to tell them she's fine after a hospital visit.

"I'm home… and feeling great. Thanks for all the love and support," wrote the indomitable Hollywood survivor

Her posts, of which there have been 38 in total, include a message to her friend former model Kathy Ireland, at whose suggestion she signed up to the micro-blogging tool.

Showing she's not lost her sense of humour, the screen legend told Kathy: "Thanks Darling for the beautiful flowers and all the prayers. Now can you just get my puppy past hospital security."

Fans keeping in touch with Dame Elizabeth through her site have also learned that the actress has seen Twilight on DVD, loves Susan Boyle and has loaned her jewels to a Bulgari retrospective in Rome.

So what's the story with Twitter…? In case you haven't already discovered it, Twitter is a free social networking service which enables users to send and read other users' messages.

These 'tweets' are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them.

Since it launched in 2006, the service has become a hit with celebs. Check out hellomagazine.com's celebrity Twitter page
