Actor Charlie Sheen has been discharged from a New York hospital after being admitted in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police were called to the star's room at The Plaza Hotel at about 2am on Tuesday having received a phone call from a woman claiming Charlie was shouting and throwing furniture.
A police official said the 45-year-old appeared to be "intoxicated", and was removed from the scene "for alcohol abuse and psychological evaluation".
He was then taken voluntarily to New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
"What we are able to determine is that Charlie had an adverse reaction to some medication and was taken to hospital," said the Two and a Half Men star's publicist.
Charlie was spending time in New York with his ex-wife Denise Richards, who accompanied him to the hospital, and their two daughters Sam, six, and five-year-old Lola (all pictured on Sunday).
In the past, the troubled Wall Street actor has battled drug and alcohol addictions, and last year he pleaded guilty to assault on his estranged wife Brooke Mueller.
