Supermarket faces backlash after censoring Elton pics
An American supermarket has sparked a string of complaints after censoring a magazine cover featuring a picture of Elton John and David Furnish posing with their new baby.
The Arkansas Harps store placed a 'family shield' board over the front cover, which bore the words "to protect young Harps shoppers".
They did so, they said, after receiving complaints from some shoppers.
A local posted a picture of the family shield on Twitter, and the story soon spread worldwide.
The supermarket has since lifted shield from the magazine.
