Helena Bonham Carter: The red carpet rebel
She might have missed out on the Best Supporting Actress gong, but that didn't stop Helena Bonham Carter from flying the flag for Britain.
The London-born star showed her allegiance with a Union flag garter, which she proudly showed off on the red carpet.
Helena wore a gown by Coleen Atwood – the costumier from her partner Tim Burton's film Alice in Wonderland.
She was pipped to the post by Mellissa Leo at Sunday night's Oscar's ceremony, but was delighted to see friend and The King's Speech co-star Colin Firth triumph in the Best Actor category.
