A delighted Katie Holmes is finally able to promote her new mini-series The Kennedys.

Following doubts over whether the drama would air after the History Channel backed out of buying it, the series has been picked up by a rival US network.

It will been seen in Britain on BBC2 in the summer.

On Monday, the actress walked the red carpet for the LA premiere, wearing a gold necklace featuring an 'S' for her daughter Suri, five next month. 

Of course, she had another lucky charm with her - Suri's dad, her superstar husband Tom Cruise.

Wreathed in smiles with an affectionate arm around his leading lady, the Mission Impossible actor was clearly proud of Katie's new venture.

The 32-year-old portrays the iconic first lady, and had her down to a T, complete with her power suits and elegant demeanour.
