Paul Scholes hopes for 'happy life' for autistic son

Manchester United football star Paul Scholes has revealed that his six-year-old son has autism.

Paul retired from football last year after 20 years at the club.

He has remained notoriously quiet about his private life throughout his career, making the annoucement of his autobiography a surprise to many.

In his book he speaks out about the difficulties his family has had to overcome due to the condition of his youngest son, Daniel.

Writing in the Sun he said:

"We hope his condition improves but we're not banking on it, just doing everything we can to make sure he has a happy life.

"He has a load of people trying to help him, speech and play therapists for example."
