David Cameron makes his apologies for on-air blue language

While many famous faces have declared themselves fans of Twitter, David Cameron is clearly not as enamoured.

The Conservative leader has apologised for his use of bad language during a radio interview this week in which he expressed his views on the social networking website.

"The trouble with Twitter, the instantness of it – too many twits might make a t**t," he told laughing radio host Christian O'Connell. 

Moments later, the 42-year-old sparked further controversy when he spoke about the expenses scandal. "The public are rightly, I think, p****d off."

He immediately apologised, saying: "Sorry I can't say that in the morning – angry with politicians."

While his aides have pointed out his first faux-pas is not recognised as a swear word under radio guidelines, he has nevertheless said sorry.

"You always have to be careful what you say," he later told Sky News. "If I've caused any offence I obviously regret that."
