Luxembourg's royal household will be welcoming a new member after Prince Louis confirmed he is to become a father. The royal palace announced on Thursday that the prince's girlfriend, Tessy Anthony, is pregnant with the couple's first child.

At just 19, Luis will be one of Europe's youngest royal parents. And the birth of the baby, expected in March 2006, will make 50-year-old Grand Duke Henri and his wife Maria Teresa first-time grandparents.
A palace spokesman has confirmed that Prince Louis and his 20-year-old partner, who is also from Luxembourg, have opted not to get married for the time being. The couple's decision is being supported by both their families, who likewise feel they are still too young to make their vows. |
