Solange Knowles' friend and business partner Amina Mussa has been left in a critical condition after being stabbed ten times on Wednesday 8 April. On hearing the news, the musician immediately cancelled her DJ appearance at Californian music festival Coachella and rushed to support 24-year-old Amina in a New Orleans hospital.
According to Nola.com, one of the Louisiana city's news websites, court records show that police have arrested a suspect named Arronesia Christophe, 26, on charges of attempted second-degree murder.

Amina, who is the project director for Solange's creative brand Saint Heron, was stabbed outside her home in the St. Roch area of New Orleans and Arronesia was arrested at the scene at around 7pm.
"Records show Christophe told police officer Dominique Dejernette that she had been attacked by Mussa and was acting in self-defence when she stabbed the woman," claims Nola.com.
When emergency services arrived on the scene they immediately took Amina, who also co-owns a boutique called Exodus Goods in the French Quarter of the city, to hospital where she underwent multiple surgeries.

While Arronesia, who reportedly works as a sales assistant, was originally arrested for aggravated battery the charges were changed to attempted second-degree murder once Amina's injuries had been examined. The New Orleans Police Department said she received stab wounds to "various areas of her body" including at least one "potentially fatal" would on her neck.
Solange, whose sister is singer Beyoncé Knowles, attended Arronesia's first appearance at Orleans Parish Criminal Court on Thursday afternoon.
On Friday representatives for 28-year-old Solange said that she had no official comment to make and confirmed that she was not in New Orleans when the incident took place.
