Ryan Reynolds has serenaded his close friend Rob McElhenney with an hilarious song composed especially for his 46th birthday – but what would his wife Blake Lively think?!

The Deadpool actor – who welcomed a fourth child with The Shallows actress in February – shared the video with fans via his social media.

The purpose of the Free Guy star's gift is to finally put an end to the confusion surrounding the pronunciation of Rob's last name.

But, true to form, the 46-year-old who is notorious for his comedic teasing also ensured the song wasn't spared from featuring a few friendly insults as well. Seeing as Blake is often also engaging in funny antics with her husband on social media, it's likely the video has her full support.

Ryan and Rob are the proud owners of Wrexham soccer team, and in the video many faces known to fans from their Disney+ documentary series about their adventures running the Welsh club, Welcome to Wrexham, can be seen joining Ryan in song.

Taking to Instagram with the video, the star – who is currently preparing for his role alongside Wolverine A-lister Hugh Jackman in the highly anticipated Deadpool 3 – wrote: "A birthday card might’ve been easier. Happy Birthday, @robmcelhenney."

He then went on to thank those that were involved in the making of the song and video. "Absolutely none of this was possible without the beautiful, heartbreaking and utterly charitable prowess of these two geniuses: @justinpaulmusic and @benjpasek," Ryan said.

"And thank you to the community of @wrexham_afc for keeping this a secret," he continued, before mischievously hinting: "Would be a real shame if this became a regular chant at the Racecourse."

Ryan and Rob regularly visit Wrexham in order to show support for the soccer team which they bought in 2020, so if the fans were to take up Ryan's challenge, Rob would be sure to hear about it in no time.

In March, the Canadian-born actor made one of his visits to the team's football ground, the Racecourse, the location of his, Blake, and their fourth child's first public appearance.

The Hollywood couple are keeping the gender and name of their fourth child private at the moment. They are already parents to three daughters, James, eight, Inez, six, and three-year-old Betty. Ryan and James were spotted enjoying some very sweet father-daughter time watching a match in January.
