Kim Cattrall has spoken out about the rumours of a third Sex and The City movie that have been swirling for months now. "I take these rumours as terrific compliments but I don't believe they are more than wishful thinking," she said. The star, who played Samantha from the iconic foursome, was speaking to Grazia during a visit to her hometown of Liverpool.

"In all the cases of the previous two films there were long periods of rumours and speculation and then they happened," she added. Asked whether Kim had received a call on the matter, she replied: "Michael Patrick King, who was the Executive producer and writer on the show, I noticed on Twitter that he said 'never say never'." Discussing her own feelings on the rumoured reunion, Kim said that it would be "wonderful".

"All four of us are so busy and doing our own projects, having children and God knows what else but when we do get together it feels like no time has passed and we've always had that great chemistry," she said. Kim was in Merseyside to pick up an International Arts Icon awards. "It's overwhelming," she said of receiving her trophy. "This is where it all began, not just for me but for my family. I feel to be recognised in my home city means a tremendous amount," she added. "I have deep, deep roots here and I feel very protective of the city."
