Gigi Hadid showcases new California-inspired Tommy Hilfiger collection

January 23, 2017

Gigi Hadid has collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger for a second collection. Described as a tribute to the "70s Cali dream girl", the SS17 range features embroidered denim, colourful co-ordinates, along with Varsity style jackets that are sure to be a hit when they are released in February.

The 21-year-old has showcased the designs in a new look book, with highlights including a boho style maxi dress, a denim trench coat and striped swimwear.

Gigi Hadid has designed another Tommy Hilfiger collection

Much like the first collection, each piece is something Gigi would wear herself, with the varsity jackets and distressed denim sure to be staples in her spring-summer wardrobe.

The pieces will make their runway debut at the Tommy Hilfiger show at New York Fashion Week. However rather than taking place in the Big Apple, Tommy has chosen to move his show to the West Coast, with the presentation set to take place on Venice Beach on 8 February.

The collection will debut ahead of New York Fashion Week

The designer has joined a number of his peers in relocating their New York shows, and has also adopted the see now, buy now business model – meaning that the new Tommy x Gigi collection will be available to buy in stores and online immediately after they are shown on the catwalk.

Gigi's first collection with Tommy Hilfiger proved to be a huge success, with everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio to Ruby Rose spotted wearing the designs.

Fans will be able to shop the collection immediately after the catwalk show

The model previously admitted she was thrilled to have been given the opportunity to collaborate with Tommy Hilfiger, so no doubt will be excited to return for another collection.

"I never thought I would be asked to design a capsule collection, so it still feels like a dream that Tommy approached me to collaborate," Gigi said when her first collection was announced. "His company is one that I genuinely love and have been a fan of for my entire life, and Tommy is the easiest, most fun person to work with."
