If there's one royal that always serves (excuse the pun) at Wimbledon, it's the Princess of Wales. The stunning mother of three is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and frequents the Royal Box every year to watch the elite tennis games unfold.
Prince William's wife always wears a plethora of magnificent outfits from the world's most exclusive designers, and her ensembles always keep the fashion world captivated.
Sometimes, however, she goes almost undercover at the famed sporting venue and has been known to observe the action from the outer courts, and she did just that in 2021.
Accompanied by chief executive Sally Bolton and committee member Tim Henman during her visit that year, Kate kept her outfit simple yet undoubtedly chic, sporting a crisp white, crew-neck T-shirt, a tailored blazer by Smythe and a resplendent, polka-dot midi skirt by one of her favourite occasionwear designers, Alessandra Rich. The swishy, fluid fabric looked wonderful teamed with her white stilettos, and the flattering cut gave her a streamlined stance. High-waisted skirts raise your natural waistline, which results in elongating the legs, giving the body an almost contoured finish.
Kate always accessorises perfectly, and this appearance was no exception. The brunette royal donned Simone Rocha pearl earrings, a Spells of Love satellite necklace, which she layered with her Daniella Draper gold chain.
Kate completed her look with Mulberry's 'Amberley' bag in white. With her long tresses artfully teased into gentle curls, this timeless look is one she could recycle in years to come.
Wimbledon-ready polka dots
After Kate stepped out in this look, many fans remarked that there were similarities between the ensemble and that of the late Princess Diana. King Charles' former wife was famously fond of polka dots, just like her daughter-in-law, and often wore them to sporting events, too.
Diana may have worn a myriad of styles from neutrals to stripes at the SW19 venue, but polka dots always seemed her go-to. We love this image of the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, animatedly cheering on Pete Sampras in the Mens' Singles Final in 1993, wearing a chic, silky spotted blouse paired with gold jewellery.
