Catherine Zeta-Jones is renowned for her trademark hair, which she recently transformed into a chic bob.
But as a child, the Chicago actress had a very different hairstyle.

To mark her birthday in September, the Hollywood star took to Instagram to share a never-before-seen photo of herself as a little girl, rocking a full fringe and colourful bow in her hair.

Catherine was pictured holding her mum's hand during a family holiday to Spain in 1974, and fans were quick to react to the sweet snapshot.
One wrote: "What a beautiful picture," while another commented: "Look looked so cute! And your mumma was so very stylish." A third added: "What a stunning photo."

The Hollywood star shares her birthday with husband Michael Douglas, and the pair both paid sweet tributes to each other on their joint special day.
Catherine shared a black-and-white photo of Michael on Instagram, wishing "the father of my children and my husband Michael" the happiest of birthdays.

The actor, meanwhile, shared a montage of photos of himself and his wife from over the years, alongside the message: "Happy Birthday Catherine! I bet you are glad this year is over! Here’s to the future."
Catherine and Michael share two children, Dylan, 19, and Carys, 17, and have been enjoying spending quality time together at their home in New York during the pandemic.
She recently revealed what they had been up to during an Instagram Q&A: "Playing cards, playing Monopoly, having three meals a day, we haven't killed each other, we've respected each other's space."

Their children have now gone back to their studies and Catherine wished them good luck on social media too. "Summer officially over in our family," she wrote alongside a photo of Dylan and Carys.
"Today both our young adults go back to studying. In different, unprecedented ways. I love you both. "And to all kids out there. Knowledge is the key to life. So battle through. This too shall pass."
