Eminem's first-ever big screen outing 8 Mile made its US debut in Los Angeles on Wednesday and the star-studded premiere boasted quite possibly the hippest guest list in recent memory.

The red carpet parade, which was headed up by Eminem and his co-star Kim Basinger, seemed like a who's who of today's hottest stars. Christina Aguilera, Dr Dre, Matthew Perry, Macy Gray, Lucy Liu and Pamela Anderson along with boyfriend Kid Rock were among stream of celebrities supporting Eminem on his new venture.

In an eclectic mix of Hollywood power players and up-and-coming talents, also attending the premiere were Oscar winner Helen Hunt, actress Alicia Silverstone and chart newcomer Avril Lavinge.

The controversial rapper's film debut was met with applause at the Toronto Film Festival in September, when a special screening of the movie then a work in progress was held for a sold-out audience.
