If you thought barrel leg jeans had had their day, or were too tricky a denim trend for you, let Rachel Stevens be proof that not only is the divisive jean silhouette still popular, but easy to wear too.
The 48-year-old found the most flattering pair of barrel jeans at M&S, which she styled to perfection with a casual yet polished outfit.
Rachel proved her incredible eye for styling by pairing the dark jeans with a classic crisp white shirt. Doing an outfit check in a mirror, Rachel was seen wearing the M&S Mid Rise Barrel Jeans, currently the bestselling jeans at the high street brand. Rachel wears the indigo mix wash, a deliciously dark denim that is instantly smart.

And this is where Rachel's look excels. Sure, a pair of jeans and a white shirt is an outfit we've all worn before, but the silhouette of the jeans, which taper at the ankle and fits mid-waist, to skim over the thighs and hips coupled with the pointed flats turn things up a notch.
It's no surprise Rachel, who found fame as a member of the 90s pop group S Club 7, found the most flattering pair. Earlier this year she was named as a Petites Ambassador for M&S, championing the high street brand's collection made for women 5ft3 and under.
Her jeans not only come in short/petite but extra short too, and an impressively wide range of sizes, spanning 6 - 24, along with various washes - from Rachel's dark indigo to white, with brown, grey and cream some of its bestselling shades.
The jeans lean into the barrel shape, with a soft curve of the leg without being too over the top. The slimmer barrel is an easy way to try the trend; I'd suggest wearing a pointed shoe or boot with them to offset the width.
