Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson will soon be hearing the patter of tiny feet it seems. Pals held a baby shower for the Grammy-winning singer and actress over the weekend in her home town of Chicago.

A long-time friend of the singer told the Chicago Tribune: "It was… a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family." Pal Patricia Fields, also a singer and actress, added: "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet," explaining that  the gathering took place in a relative's home on Saturday.

Another paper reports Jennifer - who is engaged to lawyer-turned-wrestler David Otunga - is seven months pregnant. Representatives for the actress have declined to comment.
