Tom Daley's Twitter offender reprimanded

A teenager has been given a police warning after tweeting a string offensive messages to diver Tom Daley.

Reece Messer, 17, said the Olympic hopeful had ‘let down’ his late father, who died just over a year ago.

His comments came after Tom failed to win a medal in the men's 10m synchronised platform event with partner Peter Waterfield.

Reece's father Norman has said that his son suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and "needs help not punishment".

He added: "I just want to say sorry to Tom Daley and wish him every success in the future."

This comes as Tom prepares for his individual diving event on August 10.
