Kilt-wearing Charles visits remote Scottish islands

Appropriately attired in one of his numerous kilts, Prince Charles has been visiting Orkney, a group off islands which lie ten miles off the northermost coast of Scotland.

Charles and his wife Camilla - who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay while in Scotland - listened to traditional music from the islands performed by local children on accordions and fiddles. They were also treated to a contemporary theatre production created by youngsters in a project being overseen by the Scottish National Theatre.

The royal couple were visiting Kirkwall, the largest city and capital of Orkney. It's situated on the largest island, known as Mainland, which is one of 20 inhabited islands which make up the 70-isle archipelago.
