Ladies who lunch: Katherine Heigl and mum dine out

As Mother's Day approaches on both sides of the Pond, mums and daughters across the globe will no doubt be looking to spending some quality time together. 

Enjoying each others company this week were actress Katherine Heigl and her mother, Nancy.

The glamorous pair, who often appear at red-carpet events together, were spotted dining at a restaurant in Los Angeles before relaxing at a nearby spa.

New mum Katherine is undoubtedly making the most of her time off work.

Grey's Anatomy producers have confirmed the actress will reprise her role on the hit series once her maternity leave is up.

"She's written into the next script," says producer Shonda Rhimes.

Katherine and husband Josh became proud parents in September last year after adopting ten-month-old cutie, Naleigh.
