Leather-clad Princess Maxima releases inner rocker

She's known for her love of often colourful, feminine designs. But Crown Princess Maxima was working a very different look at the weekend.

The Argentina-born royal looked every inch the rock chick in a leather-effect LBD and matching spike-heeled boots.

Smoky eye makeup, statement earrings and a trendy black clutch completed the edgy look.

Maxima was perfectly attired for the event in hand – she was the guest of honour at a music awards ceremony in Rotterdam.

The Edison Pop Awards recognise the best in Dutch and international artists. Former X Factor contestants JLS were among the winners this year.
