Charlize Theron spills beans on 'disaster date'

She is one of Hollywood’s most beautiful actresses.

But when it comes to dating, Charlize Theron hasn't always been lucky.

Appearing on Conan O'Brien's talk show this week, the Oscar-winner recalled a disastrous blind date she had after a charity auction.

Fulfilling her promise to "go to dinner with this strange man", Charlize said she "made two girlfriends sit at the restaurant".

"The closer I got, I thought: 'This could actually turn out really bad'," she said.

The 36-year-old, mum to six-month-old son Jackson, admitted the experience has put her off future blind dates.

"Look I would rather give the money (to charity), she said.

"It was a scary thing. And he was weird!"

Charlize split up from her long-term boyfriend, Irish actor Stuart Townsend, in 2010.
