The opening of Love Never Dies has been delayed on Broadway until 2011 due to Andrew Lloyd Webber's illness.
Although the 62 year old was given the all-clear from prostate cancer after surgery in January, the impresario - who launched his new show in London last month - is suffering from "postoperative problems."
According to a statement from the show's US producers, Sir Andrew's doctors have advised him not to travel long distances by air "until the problem has been investigated."
"I am extremely frustrated that I cannot travel to New York for the time being," says the composer.
"I will be focusing my time on producing The Wizard of Oz in London now and plan to be available for the creative process of bringing Love Never Dies to Broadway as soon as possible."
