Lady GaGa dons wacky headgear for US chat show

She's pushed the envelope with her quirky sartorial style since she burst onto the music scene last year, and Lady GaGa took her look to new levels this week with a bizarre intergalactic-style headpiece she donned for an appearance on US TV.

The Poker Face singer wore the strange contraption, which was made up or a series of interlinking gold rings circling her head, to go on Ellen DeGeneres' chat show this week. 

Lady GaGa – real name Stefani Germanotta – told Ellen the piece, which was designed by theatrical hat designer Nasir Mazhar, was "an orbit". The 23-year-old, who had also donned a denim patchwork jumpsuit with huge raise bat-wing shoulders, continued: "It's a barrier. It's my GaGa barrier."
