Catherine Zeta-Jones treated for bipolar disorder

Catherine Zeta-Jones – a great support to husband Michael Douglas during his recent cancer battle - has received treatment for bipolar disorder, her rep has confirmed.

"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder," publicist Cece Yorke said in a statement.

"She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."

It is unclear when the Chicago actress, 41, was diagnosed or where she sought her treatment.

Bipolar, also known as manic depression, causes severe mood swings that usually last several weeks.
