Tina O'Brien's chickenpox raises fears for 'Strictly' stars

An attack of chicken pox has forced Coronation Street actress Tina O'Brien to pull out of this week's Strictly Come Dancing.

The 27-year-old caught the highly contagious disease from her daughter, and has been advised not to participate in Saturday's action.

However, concerns have been raised that other stars may have also been infected due to contact on the show, since the virus has an incubation period of between 14 and 21 days.

According to Strictly rules, Tina will be allowed back into the following week's show but if she is unable to dance she may be forced to leave.

Tina said: "I am devastated. I was so looking forward to this week's show. Jared and I have spent so much time and effort on a really fantastic routine and I just couldn't wait to perform it on Saturday."
