Tiger will try to 'be more friendly to fans' say friends

The 150th Open Championship is in full swing but the media focus in St Andrews is firmly on one man.

Golf legend Tom Watson openly criticised troubled Tiger Woods a few months back saying that he must “clean up his act” and “show some humility to the public.”

And it appears Tiger is on course to do just that.

Speaking out in support his friend, fellow golfer Mark O’Meara confirmed that Tiger will try to “smile more” and to be “more friendly to the fans.”

Mark does admit however, “It’s easy to smile when you’re winning, it’s not so easy to smile when you’re struggling.”

In response to questions about his attitude toward the public on the course and the rumours surrounding his private life, the three-time Open champion has repeatedly said: “I’m trying to become a better player and a better person.”
