Melanie Sykes announces engagement to roofer
TV personality Melanie Sykes has announced her engagement to roofer Jack Cockings.
The 42-year-old, who first found fame in an advert for Boddingtons beer, met Jack, 26, on Twitter and so fittingly chose to tweet the good news.
Melanie said: "To my beautiful twitter friends just want to let you know that me &Jack @bespokespartan are engaged to be married and we are very giddy xxxx"
The Lancashire-born star has two sons, Roman and Valentino, from her marriage to Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone which ended in 2009.
Jack also has a five-year-old son from a previous relationship.
The former model has also appeared on The Big Breakfast and Today With Des And Mel and had a stint on Radio 2 with Alan Carr.
After hearing the news, Alan tweeted his friend: "Congratulations love!!! So pleased for you both. Bring on the hen party!! ha ha."
