Tina Fey to co-host the Golden Globes

30 Rock star Tina Fey has confirmed that she will be hosting the Golden Globes.

Tina will host the awards ceremony alongside Mean Girls co-star Amy Poehler.

Their appointment makes a marked change from the acerbic hosting style of Ricky Gervais, who has presented the ceremony for the past three years.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and NBC, who organise the awards, are said to "thrilled" with their decision, describing the comediennes' involvement as a "major coup".

A spokesperson said: "Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-starring roles in Baby Mama."

The ceremony will take place on January 13, just two weeks before the Oscars.
