'Star Wars' director George Lucas calling it a day

George Lucas has announced he won't be making another blockbuster.

The Star Wars director, 67, made the announcement in an interview to the New York Times, where he spoke of Hollywood bosses rejecting his latest film, Red Tails.

The filmmaker said he would only work on a fifth Indiana Jones film before he calls it a day.

Rick McCallum, who has been producing George's films for more than 20 years, was quoted as saying: "Once this is finished, he's done everything he's ever wanted to do.

"He will have completed his task as a man and a filmmaker."

According to the New York Times, the director will spend the rest of his life making small, experimental art-house films.

The director also responded to negative reaction to the changes he's made to his Star Wars films.

He said: "Why would I make any more when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?"
