This week two of the brightest forces in British football, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney, kicked off England's campaign to host the World cup in 2018.
Thirty-four-year-old Becks says the unrivalled enthusiasm of the nation's fans might help give the country an edge over rival bids from Austria, Russia, the US, and a joint offer from Spain and Portugal.
"I know first hand the passion of our fans and they would provide an incredible atmosphere at every game," said the footie ace, speaking at Wembley Stadium. "We're renowned for getting excited by big events and I don't think any other country can compete with us for that."
Fellow ace Wayne, who'll be 32 in 2018, said: "Hopefully I'll still be playing and hopefully we can bring the World Cup to England. It would be unbelievable."
