Welsh mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins joined Britain's Got Talent star Faryl Smith in London this week at a ceremony to announce the contenders for this year's Classical Brit Awards.
Katherine, who performed at the nod announcement ceremony, received a nomination herself in the best album category for her new disc Sacred Arias. She'll be facing competition from Jonathan Ansell who rose to fame as a member of operatic boy band G4 on The X Factor.
While the nominees must wait until the May 14 ceremony in the Royal Albert Hall to see if they'll be taking home a trophy, legendary tenor Jose Carreras already has his assured. He's to be presented with a lifetime achievement gong on the night .
