Bafta honour for French and Saunders

Friends of Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders say they're thrilled to hear the comedy duo will be honoured with a Bafta fellowship – the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. 

 "It is brilliant news," said Joanna Lumley, the pair's Absolutely Fabulous co-star.

"I obviously know them and adore them and I can't think of anyone more worthy of the honour," added the actress.  

The presentation, which will be the highlight of the April 26 TV awards ceremony, marks only the second time a double act has won the prestigious accolade.  

In 1999 the honour went to Morecambe and Wise
