Jamie Oliver tops Christmas book charts

Wednesday December 21, 2011

Jamie Oliver has beaten his rivals to take the number one spot in the Christmas book chart for the second consecutive year.

Jamie's Great Britain has sold 59,156 copies in the week ending December 17, according to Nielsen BookScan data.

The new book accompanies Jamie's most recent TV programme where the chef travelled around the UK in search of the finest recipes the country has to offer.

In both the book and the TV series, he focuses on the importance of immigration to the country in creating fantastic new dishes and recipes, some of which have become staple British dishes.

It's the TV chef's fourth time at the top of the chart - Jamie's 30-Minute Meals was the best-selling title of 2010.

Jamie's Great Britain has sold 319,217 copies since it was released in September.
